The Process

The process for commissioning a painting will begin with the commissioner (yourself) making initial contact via email to enquire. You must provide a detailed specification of your preferred composition with any personalisation which includes the preferred size. This can then be discussed in more thorough detail either on the phone or via zoom so that you get to know me and my process better and feel confident about the commission. Once everything is confirmed you will be sent a confirmation email with an invoice attached as a 50% deposit is required upfront paid by direct debit/bank transfer. The remaining 50% will be due upon completion and satisfaction of the final commission.

As my main mode of working stems from photographic references, a second meeting will be arranged for me to meet the sitter of the commission so that I can personally take photos to work from. Should the commission be a surprise gift for a third party, we can arrange for an incognito photoshoot in which photos can be taken under an alternative pretence with permission from both parties (yourself and the sitter). The images will then be forwarded to you for you to pick which composition you approve of with any other motifs that you would like to include. As a commission is very personal to the individual, it is very important to me that you are involved in the process every step of the way to ensure satisfaction in the final piece.

During the painting process you will have the option of requesting a single midway update meeting with the artist to be given the opportunity to see the progress of the painting to offer any final feedback.
